President Obama’s 2010 by the numbers

December 31, 2010

CBS Radio News correspondent Mark Knoller covers the White House and keeps track of everything presidential.

Nearly everything.

Knoller has released his annual report on presidential activity including speeches, trips on Air Force One, and number of rounds of golf played.

Among other things, the numbers show more speeches, fewer news conferences and press availabilities, more domestic travel, less foreign travel, and more basketball outings.

One thing that didn’t change was the unemployment rate.  It was 10 percent to start the year and 9.8 percent today.

The president ended the year with a minus 12 approval index as measured by pollster Scott Rasmussen.

Former presidential advisor Karl Rove also opines on President Obama’s approval ratings at this stage of his presidency compared to former Presidents Reagan and Clinton.
