New Hare legislative director visits Rock Island County farm

November 12, 2009

Congressman Phil Hare’s new legislative director visited the farm Wednesday of Rock Island County Farm Bureau President Phil Fuhr.

Fuhr, Rowe, and Donnelly

Rock Island CFB President Phil Fuhr discusses the late harvest with Congressman Phil Hare's economic development assistant Andy Rowe and new legislative director Kevin Donnelly on Fuhr's operation.

Kevin Donnelly is in Illinois this week making stops throughout the 17th Congressional District which covers more than 20 counties in western and  southwest-central Illinois.

Donnelly is a New Jersey native.   His Facebook page indicates that he is a fan of the recently crowned , 27 -time World Champion New York Yankees.

Welcome to Cardinal Country, Kevin.

I was introduced to Kevin when he called to tell me that Congressman Hare wanted to write a letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack urging USDA to assist struggling pork producers.

I appreciated both the call and the letter.

While on the recent Managers to Washington trip, we invited Kevin to join us for our meeting with EPA Agriculture Counselor Larry Elworth.

If you see Kevin out in the district, ask him if he has watched his “History of Illinois Farm Bureau” DVD.
